Fortunately for us, Sandy didn’t cause much damage in our neighbourhood, but the school is still closed, so I get to play with the kids today instead of doing Science (the plan is to learn to solder and build a cyborg to clean up the debris, or at least the most important part, namely the glowing eyes).
Before I go, I thought I’d check up on the XMM data to see when it becomes public. After installing the XMM-Newton Science Archive tool, XSA, I find the three observations are made public tomorrow. Hopefully they will cover this group - they should, since the field-of-view of the MOS and EPIC cameras in XMM-Newton are larger than that of ACIS-I - and so provide a lot more signal (it would also be good if the source isn’t cut by one of the chip gaps as it appears to be in the Chandra data).
